Outreach and Service Events

These events are some of the main ways we try to give back to and impact our community for good. Email Connie, our Director of Mobilization, or call the church office (770-592-3993) to get involved in any of these events!

The Atlanta Pregnancy Resource Center

The Midtown Bridge regularly partners with The Atlanta Pregnancy Resource Center. Did you know Georgia has one of the 15 highest abortion rates in the US? APRC’s mission is to share the truth and compassion for Jesus Christ, support life-affirming choices, and promote healthy relationships by serving and caring for women and families in pregnancy-related circumstances. Contact APRC at 770-723-0772 or atlantapregnancy@bellsouth.net to get involved.

heartCRY Anti-Trafficking Initiative – Atlanta and Beyond

30 million people are enslaved in the world today, half of whom are children. Atlanta is among the highest rated cities for human sex trafficking in the US and around the world. Nearly 500 girls are commercially sexually exploited every month in Georgia, some as young as 10. Join the movement and learn how you can help combat these atrocities through Street Grace, Stop The Candy Shop, and Sisters in Service’s Nepal project. For more information email Kimberly Chalk.

Meet the Neighbors – Neighborhood Outreach

Meet the Neighbors is a ministry designed to encourage you to host neighborhood social gatherings for the purpose of creating the opportunity to engage in building relationships with our neighbors. We share ideas and principles we have learned through past Meet the Neighbors events and provide support for you as you host an event. For more information, email Adam and Sherri Jachelski.

Homeless Ministry

My Sister’s House

All are welcome to volunteer to help the women and children at Atlanta Union Mission‘s “My Sister’s House” shelter on the second Friday night of each month. My Sister’s House is a faith-based organization that provides emergency shelter and long-term residential recovery for women struggling with addictions, domestic violence, etc. For more information about how to help, email the church!

Missions Trips

South Africa with Hope2Africa

Our church sends teams to South Africa each year (normally late September and early October) that work with Hope2Africa! Hope2Africa is an organization that teaches teenagers how to evangelize through the creative arts. We are looking forward to continuing our partnership with South Africa and Hope2Africa in the future. If you want more information on being a part of this awesome trip, email the church!

Moldova 2012

Moldova was once known as the “Bread Basket” of Europe but now, following the fall of communism, it is the poorest country in Europe. We are sending a team there, February 26-March 9, 2012 and would love for you to join us! We will meet people’s spiritual needs through worship services and physical needs through eye care clinics. The people of Moldova are so eager to hear about the good news of Jesus Christ and the hope found through Him. Email Connie Saltamacchio for more information at csaltamacchio@gabaptist.org.

Seasonal Events

50 For 50 – Thanksiving Meals

For Thanksgiving, as a church, we reach out to 50 needy families in Atlanta by providing them with Thanksgiving dinners. These are families who often wouldn’t have the means to have a traditional Thanksgiving meal. Every $50 donation buys one. You may make a donation to this fundraiser by visiting our Online Giving page to make a donation designated to 50 for 50 Thanksgiving Meals (once you log in to Paypal, click the “Designate your Donation” button). Alternatives to Paypal are sending your donation through the mail or in person at church.

Atlantic Station Gift Wrapping

We will be providing free gift wrapping in Atlantic Station on the weekends between November 26th and December 19th.

Seasonal Festivals

The Midtown Bridge has partnered with Atlantic Station to help bring fun festival events to the community in Atlantic Station’s Central Park. We have previously helped with festivals for Fall, Winter, Easter, and Independence Day.
